Xcel Sports Medicine LLC was founded in 2006 to provide Sports Performance Enhancement, Exercise Training and and Physical Therapy to communities in the area. Our goal is to provide each client with the finest services, specialists, and facility to enhance their experience. We are focused on improving fitness and enhancing sports performance as a means to build the confidence, motivation, character, and teamwork needed to be successful athletes and individuals. Physical Therapist A Physical Therapist has formal training in orthopedics and/or sports medicine and plays a vital role in reducing pain and restoring function to injured clients. The diverse knowledge and skills of a physical therapist allows them to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate acute injures. We accept clients through referral by Sports, Orthopedic and Family Practice Physician and by self-referral. Exercise Physiologist An Exercise Physiologist has a formal background in the study of exercise science and uses this knowledge to design diverse strength conditioning programs individuals. Each conditioning program carefully considers a persons metabolic response to exercise in order to optimize the effect of the training. Exercise Specialist An Exercise Specialist is a certified professional who has mastered the knowledge and skills related to the training and education of clients seeking to improve their quality of life through physical fitness, health and wellness. Pilates Pilates is a physical fitness system that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Mr. Pilates refers to his method of training as Contrology. Pilates or Contrology refers to using the mind to control the muscles. Like strength training with weights, Pilates is an exercise program that focuses on the core postural muscles that keep the body balanced. Postural muscles are located from the top of the shoulders down to the pelvic girdle. Properly trained instructors focus their teachings around awareness of breathing, alignment of the spine, and strengthening deep torso muscles. |
